StaDS@Work

In the format StaDS@Work, we invite statisticians and data scientists from companies and academia to present their profession and the application of statistics.

We aim to give students an insight into options for the time after their studies and the work of a statistician/data scientist in general. It presents the daily work routine, one to a few sample projects, the career entry and the career path of different companies.

Individual talks typically last about 40 minutes, with time for questions afterwards, so that we fill about an hour. Slides are always a good accompaniment. Since our Data Science Master is in English, the events are usually held in English.

These events are ideally suited to obtain internships or working student positions or to evaluate in which direction you want to take your studies.

Events for the winter semester 24/25

If not mentioned otherwise, all events start at 6PM in the seminar room of the institute (Ludwigstraße 33, Room 144: LMU-Raumfinder-Link.) Most of the time, they are also streamed via zoom.
