Basically you will get all important information about our events via the Newsletter or on WhatsApp.

Partys

Each semester we plan to have three parties. One at the beginning of the semester, one at the end and optionally Christmas party or summer party.

Stammtisch

We plan to have two evenings per Semester for Bachelor and Master where we have a get together in a pub.

Social Run

We organize a social running group during the semester that meets once a week in front of the Statistics Institute (Ludwigsstraße 33). You can leave your bag at the Fachschafts-CIP (Ludwigsstraße 33, room 051). Our run typically covers a distance of about 7-8 km. We don‘t divide into pace groups, but don‘t worry, we run at a comfortable pace and slowing down to ensure that everyone can keep up is not a problem.

Gaming night

Multiple times per Semester we organise a game night, where we play cards, board games, and video games.

Stads@Work

We invite statisticians and data scientists from companies and academia to present their profession and the application of statistics.

We aim to give students an insight into options for the time after their studies and the work of a statistician/data scientist in general. It presents the daily work routine, one to a few sample projects, the career entry and the career path of different companies.

Individual talks typically last about 40 minutes, with time for questions afterwards, so that we fill about an hour. Slides are always a good accompaniment. Since our Data Science Master is in English, the events are usually held in English.

These events are ideally suited to obtain internships or working student positions or to evaluate in which direction you want to take your studies.

Semester trip

We organise trips for a weekend at the beginning of each semester, where we play games, hike, cook and drink together.
